Turmeric is a very popular spice in our kitchens. It is also widely used in Chinese medicine for its digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. But do you know its benefits on skin and hair ?
The five benefits of turmeric on the skin:
1. Turmeric effectively fights acne by regulating sebum production,
2. It prevents aging of the skin thanks to its antioxidant properties which soften lines and wrinkles,
3. It attenuates skin pigmentation, following a hormonal change or exposure to the sun for example, and reduces redness,
4. Added with a little milk, it hydrates dry skin,
5. It illuminates the skin and gives radiance to the face
The exfoliating and hydrating turmeric mask:
Ingredients :
1 teaspoon of turmeric
1 teaspoon of organic honey
A little coconut milk
Recipe :
Put on an apron as turmeric can stain your clothes. Combine the turmeric and honey in a bowl, then add the coconut milk very slowly until you get a firm paste. All you have to do is apply the turmeric mask to your cleansed face. Leave on for 20 minutes then rinse with cold water.
The mask against dark spots:
Ingredients :
½ teaspoon of turmeric.
2 tablespoons of cucumber juice,
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
Recipe :
Just mix the 3 ingredients and apply the turmeric mask to the stain for 15 minutes, before rinsing off with clean water.
